Nice center console solution in a 1995 GTS, as for sale in Austria.
For sure many Rennlister's are aware of Keith Widom exceedingly well made center console reconfiguration (as per thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...upid-long.html ).
While surfing around for 928 content yesterday evening, I stumbled upon the fact that someone - most likely in Austria - also went through a lot of trouble fitting a very nice center console solution in a 1995 GTS.
I found this on the Porsche's for sale web-site of Dr. Georg Konradsheim (from Vösendorf, Austria) as per link: http://www.rsr.at/en/index.php and then click on "928" on the left hand side under "Latest offers". There are currently four (4) 928 GTS's listed for sale, and the 1995 is the one from which underneath pictures as posted underneath.
As always: no affiliation, just sharing.
I wonder about the plastic surrounding of the automatic shifter, never seen that before. The overall fit & finish seems of high standards, I think it is well done. Anybody here who knows more about this?

That is by far, the best that I have seen. Impressive.

just noticed, the surround around the head unit, HVAC, etc. seems to be covered in a vinyl which would make sense since it would cover minor imperfectons

Very impressive. It is amazing how nicely that modern look blends in with a dash designed in the Seventies.

Being quite a lot older than some of you fellows I remember when the 928 first came out and how the dash was then thought of as being a lot different (nicer, more advanced, etc.) than most of the dashes of the time. Beauty is eternal.

Hmm.. given its in Austria makes me wonder whether it was owned by a relative of Ferry Porsche.
Is that stereo/phone/nav setup from a 996?
edit: No its not the PCM from the 996 - very similar however, so possibly made by Becker too? PCM below. further edit: its PCM2 from the later 996's (2002-2006).

Yep - turns out its PCM2 - from 2002-2006 (997 got PCM2.1). Pretty impressive - I'd have thought PCM uses a lot of canbus features like speed sensing etc. and thus be a pain to integrate with 928.
Not sure I'd want PCM, but a similar fascia for a standard double-din would be awesome, especially with enough tolerance around the side/edges to cover in vinyl or leather and thus look factory.
The one problem I have with Keith's solution was that it was a little "bitty" with all the plastic chopping etc. Something like this would be awesome.
