It looks great, but the thing is a lot of Cayenne Owners are actually pulling their PCM 2.1 out (although I like mine). I don't think I'd install a MOST ring into a vehcle that didn't originally have it! Must have been a pain to install!

Thinking about this console as I went about my daily stuff today.
It really makes the console look thoroughly modern.. and could be used to house Porsche climate control too.
One of the Aussies up in Brisbane was working on VW climate control which uses the same controller apparently (thread here)

Not only is the quality of the fabrication excellent, the console itself looks perfect, with a perfect fit to the dash. I bet we see some people jump on the concept and run with it.
I don't care much for the shifter, but weakest I think are the vents.
One thought is this person or the person who did the work for them has access to a lot of OEM parts.

I agree the vents don't fit with the rest of the 928 interior design - however they are a practical solution to providing directable air-flow from the center vent. These look to be properly functional (unlike the fugly ones from Garage9 / Jageng).
Moving the stock center vent outwards and pointing more upwards by necessity, when making a flush console, results in worse airflow. I experimented one day when wondering about the impact of such a mod.
Function over form would have me choose these vents too for such a mod. Assuming the vents themselves can rotate as well as just the vanes, it would mean both driver and passenger can get equal amounts of cooling air (rather than splitting the top/bottom air streams like stock vent). It appears from their slightly different angles that they do rotate.
What are those vents from? (not a 996/997/986/987 - possibly not Porsche bits?)
edit: Toyota Celica 2001/2002-ish appears to be right

I bought a used 928 vent then modded it so each of them (top and bottom) vents have the control **** thingy on left and right and each of the vents are such that they can blow air left and right at the same time. Problem solved and simple to do. Can take a pic and post if anyone wants to see. Looks totally stock

Nothing new under the sun
My Grandmother used to say that there is nothing new under the sun. I see by this thread that my efforts, inspired by Kieth Widom's efforts, which I was directed to by Nicole some time ago, Have (both) been preceded by someone in the old country. Here are the pictures of what I had come up with some time ago, which I think are posted in my thread about this project. I have, since these pictures, refined these components somewhat in respect to the lower insert around the shifter(s) and I have two versions of that insert--one for the auto and one for the manual.
There is, so far, only one of these conversions in captivity and that is in Jimmy M's car in FL. Even that one is still waiting for the completion of a correct lower insert to incorporate the shifter indicator lites and his custom gauge configuration. Jimmy, I'll still get to those one of these days.
The problem I came up with in terms of marketing these, aside from the need to complete the WW liner program, is that I found that there is too much fabrication needed to complete this conversion in the field, so I am probably going to have to do this on a one at a time conversion in my shop with your center console rather than trying to have one of you do the needed fabrication yourself. I know that sticks in the craw of many of you, but I think that is the reality of it.
I am going to put this conversion in my GTS4 and post about that and maybe then we can try to figure out better how this development can be shared with the rest of you.
