Be careful when you double up wrenches, do not let a finger get into the open end of the wrench because if it slips and turns it will break that finger, I have seen it happen, or rather heard the scream as it happened.

I torqued them to spec too. Good-n-f'ing tight spec cause I didn't have a torque wrench that would fit in there. Still tight too.

I fairly often resort to using a crowfoot to extend my torque wrench on stuff where I can't get a socket on it (just remember to modify the torque value to take into account the extra length of the crowfoot on the lever).

For torquing stuff like that's even harder to reach, you can measure the length of any wrench (including an open ended one) and then use a hanging scale (fishing scale) to apply the correct force.

I'll add one of these wrenches to my next shipment of tools from the USA - I need to drop the torque tube on my '87 and this will come in handy.

Don't forget to install one of the better aftermarket shifter linkages while the motor is out! It's somewhat more accessible while the motor is out.

We use one of these with bent 19mm end, works perfectly. Set is around $150 but its best money I have ever spend on tools. Sizes are 10x11, 12x14, 13x15, 16x18, 17x19 and 22x24mm and lenghts between 40 and 50cm.

While this is true, by doing it the 'proper' way the engine lifts straight out and takes less work to do.

Having just done this job, I found the "long-reach" harbor freight tools box wrenches reach perfectly. Throw a second wrench on it to extend it and crack! done.

This is now on my must have list. Yes I have done it many times with the two wrench method, but this is much more elegant and less knuckle busting as well.

Couldn't get the upper bellhousing bolts... i know that if i start to get pissed off i start breaking things and throwing stuff around, so pulling the engine probably avoided me breaking a part because i was pissed.

The EZ Red kit doesn't have the 22/24 that I need. Your kit ( I mistook it for the EZ Red ) does.

Just used the EZ-RED wrench. It does make childs play of those upper bolts. As long as you have your wife handy to get the bolts started ;D or someone else with small hands.
What's the torque spec for those four bolts? Looked through the manual but couldn't find it. It's been a long weekend. Thanks
