T,
What type of black carpet? Is it domestic or Sliverknit?

Doug, saw that NJ car. I like the really early euro vins.

Sure hope someone thought to apply leather conditioner at least a few times in the last two and a half decades.

Definitely on the list of things to do, but all the leather is soft, surprisingly.

So I picked the car up today and got a few more details. The car was actually rolled in 1979 without the cabin getting crushed. I have a non-op certificate that says the car was not operated from 11-1-79 through 1-6-81. The next owner bought it from Union Bank c/o Richard Nelson for $5000. The frame was bent and he straightened it, bought all new panels, worked on it to get it ready for paint, then let it sit. I'm guessing it's been garaged for 34 years, since it was one year old. All the panels on the car are straight, but the body itself is not symmetrical. This car is not one to save, but the interior is a super score!

I've got to ditch this car now. I originally wanted to pull the motor and transmission and keep them in storage, but I can't do that now.

If anyone on this thread is interested, I'm happy to let it go cheap. I'd like to get the AC compressor and radiator out of it, but will need to stop by an AC shop to get the Freon out while either you or I tow it to wherever you want it.

Again, the engine and tranny are in perfect condition with ~23k on them. The items I've removed so far are: full interior, muffler, instrument cluster and engine wiring harness.

Let me know if you're interested. If I don't get an offer by Monday, I'm going to call Parts Heaven in Hayward and see if I can work out a deal for salvage.

My buddy has a trailer and will bring it to you for a reasonable price if you need it.

So the body is tweaked but he straightened some panels and got them ready for paint?

He said interior is out, plus he wants radiator and A/C, also took front engine harness. So engine and trans are in the car....

Yes, there are lots of straight body parts and all the glass is there. Front and back bumpers are also in the car. The things missing are entire interior, including dash, seats, carpet (everything), muffler, engine wiring harness and instrument cluster (the last two I sold). There are lots of good parts on this car, I just can't store it at my friend's house any longer and have some big life changes that make it difficult for me to find the time to dismantle, store and move big parts.

Yes, but you don't want to paint this car. It was rolled in 1979 after being driven for only a year and then repaired and stored. You can visibly see that it was rolled, frame straightened, etc. I bought the car for the near-pristine interior, but was going to try to keep some of the other items that would be expensive to replace (engine, trans, etc.), since the car only had 23K on it before it was mothballed.
