WTB: 17" x 7.5" Cup II wheels

Prefer just the pair with no tires but willing to buy a full set with or without tires if necessary. Please PM if you have of know of a set for sale. Thanks! :)

What offsets are you looking for?

PorscheG96 08-07-2012 12:04 PM

ET65.

A complete set just popped up on RL For Sale: 7" fronts, 9" rears, et 55 with almost new Pirelli's for under $ 1,000. Great deal. T

Thanks Tony. I've already got a set of 7" and 9" Cup II but looking for the 7.5" front wheels. :)

What do you think a pair of these are worth? Reason I ask, I've chased 8" ET 70s a few times and the economics of that upgrade ultimately turn on what someone would pay for a nice pair of 7.5" ET65s ... these are a special fitment for late '94 and '95 928 GTS, don't think they were used on any other model, so can't be many out there ...

I believe they were used on the front of late model 968's as well. Probably as rare as the Cup 2 8" et 70 winter wheels for the 993.

Good luck finding the 7.5" Cup II! Rare as hens teeth!

I think you can get the 8" ET70 out of Germany for $600 each!

gruffalo 08-07-2012 06:11 PM

Try looking in Europe. I found a set of et65 7.5" cup IIs immediately when I started looking for them this winter. I think I paid $200 for the set. I also found the 8" et70s.

And yes, having the correct offset IS worth it! :-)

Have you tried here?

No affiliation, just good selection.

I have a pair of 7.5" x 17" et65mm that I will part with. Currently mounted on tires, but I can pay someone to dismount. In good condition, I can take some pictures .....$325 and you pay the shipping.

Lloyd 08-08-2012 09:16 AM

SOLD----A local Porsche guy just called and bought them

Tom in Austin 08-08-2012 10:33 AM

OK, so who has a good condition pair of 8.0" x 17" et70s that can be had for $325?

Gary Knox 08-08-2012 11:53 AM

Somebody in SC got a great deal on that set of 7.5's!!!

Tom - better not hold your breath for that price in 8" ones to come along. Last 2 sets I "found" and sold were nearly that price each! All the wheels were true and straight, but would require refinishing to be perfect in appearance.

I actually have one more of the 8" et 70 Cup II wheels that was refurbished by a Porsche dealer, so perfect in appearance, as well as straight and true. Whenever I come across another one, I'll have a full set (or - would sell this one at a the right price).

Gary--

Tom in Austin 08-08-2012 02:32 PM

Gary, when you get a pair of 8s together maybe we can work a deal for my 7.5s ...

pcar928fan 08-08-2012 07:56 PM

Tom, talk to Jarrod in OK...that is what is on The Velvet Hammer! He got his from Germany (but I have dibs on those when/if he sells them!) and maybe he can help you find a pair!

Correction - Mine are the 17x9 ET70's, not those garden-variety 8's you boys are talking about. :D I kid, I kid!!! :icon107:

They're actually not that hard to find on German eBay, but very expensive when you factor in today's exchange rates and shipping. Oh, and then there's the risk that USPS will lose one for a few months like they did one of mine. :grr:

pcar928fan 08-08-2012 10:18 PM

Ah, J-Rod that is what I was thinking actually but then there was all the 8" talk and I figured I just lost my mind and they were 8" and not 9"... I like 9" EVEN BETTER! Can't wait till you sell them to me! :D

Gary Knox 08-09-2012 10:24 AM

Those wanting 9" fronts, don't forget you can have them with a 70 offset. Buy a 7.5" Sport Design or Sport classic 2 piece wheel (whichever spider pattern you like best), then buy a set of 9" rears of EITHER design from a boxster. Remove the titanium bolts that hold the barrels to the spiders, and swap the 7.5" spider onto the 9" barrel. Voila, 9" et 70 front wheels. Need a set of 10" rears of the same spider design and you are ready to go with 255/35 X 18 tires up front and 275/35 or 295/30 X 18's on the rear.
