Well, looks like you choose well for your first purchase and are well underway to getting it perfect. Don't screw around with those fuel lines. I watched my 88 burn right in front of my eyes. Not a pretty sight...
Take plenty of care in a well ventilated area. I had gotten to the point where I couldn't smell the fumes and that is what actually caught on fire.
Good luck, she is just beautiful and from your start it also looks like she will be well maintained. Welcome to the shark tank.

Just made an appointment with Vinnie at Gulf Performance Center in Pompano Beach Florida to release the flex plate and check end play. Based on positive results will do timing belt, water pump, accessory belts, oil and filter with Mobil1 0w40.
As for oil, we generally recommend a lubricant with a higher level of ZDDP additive than is found in Mobil1 0W-40. The next grade up in Mobil1 is 15W-50 and contains much higher levels of ZDDP which helps to protect our cams.
It may open a very large can of worms in your nice clean thread, but please investigate this on rennlist before choosing your oil.

They were actually recommended by another Rennlister. Check out

There's a red 928 on the end of the row. I talked to Vinnie and he knew exactly what I was looking for and why.
I'm going to change the oil again pretty quickly so I'll stick with the thinner stuff for the first flush and follow up on your suggestion for the final.
Thanks
Jim

I personally would not run the car another minute with 0w-40 in the summer Florida heat. You need to go with a heavier oil, your hot idle oil pressure is going to be way low. Brad Penn 20w50, Mobil 1 15w50 and Amsoil 20w50 all with high zinc content are favorites here.

Just dropped the car off and there were five other 928s plus more 944s than I cared to count and a 968 on the lift inside. Based on our conversation I think Vinnie knows exactly what he's talking about and knows these cars. He's on here too.
Say hi Vinnie!

I withdrew my objection, that's all you're going to get.
