87 S4 Manual - no start
Car turns over.
It coughed twice today but still not start
Tach needle jumps on startup
no sounds from fuel pump
no power to fuel pump fuse (42) - With or without key turned on
power to 30 on the fuel relay
all 53 relays have been replaced with spares from a 94 GTS CE panel.
no smell of fuel
I grounded a spare spark plug (5 and 2) to the water bridge no spark.
Car history.
Bad alternator - caused coil to explode. Ran on only one half of engine
completed t-belt install PO started.
New coil provided by PO
Bought used alternator from Brent (Thanks!)
PO drained the fuel tank - Yes I put 4+ gallons in yesterday.

Not the CPS because the tach is moving/jumping on start up.
Have access to a spare EZH (no spark) or LH? Might be the brains. Are the injectors clicking?
You can try jumping fuel pump relay (XX?) between 87-30 and see if that's it. Note, FP will run even after key is off. Shouldn't see power at fuse...that's the relay's job.
Is the TEMP II on waterbridge loose or off??

No spark coming to the driver-side plugs. Sparks on passenger-side OK.
PO bought it with this condition running on half an engine. His response was to replace the coil that had exploded.
Injectors are clicking...
This is fun.
What causes only the passenger side not to fire?

Swapped out the final stage with a spare I had from my 86.5 and now I have spark from both banks. Thanks Bobby!
Still won't start. I can hear the injectors but I do not smell gas.
Where do I go next? More fun!

Dead fuel pump.
Hooked up to 12v and not a peep.
