Temp guage sensor location
Sorry for the probably dumb question. I did as much research as I could. So here goes;
Is the sensor that the temp guage on the dash board gets its input from on the thermostat housing? And is the connector on the lower right front of the radiator the aux fan switch?
I guess what i'm getting at is that if I overheated the car, could I have fried either one or both of those sensors? When I start the car, the temp guage will go all the way to the top temp line after about 45 seconds (no where near enough time for the engine to get that hot), and the aux fan will not come on any more.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all!!!

There are two sensors on top of the thermostat housing, the front one (Bosch 2 pin connector) is for the engine management. The rear one with two seperate blade connectors is for the dash gauge.
The aux fan can be triggered by a number of sensors, auto trans temp, water rad temp , aircon refrigerant temp sensor.
Have you checked the fan by applying a 12v supply to it ?

awesome, thanks guys!!!
yes fan works, in messing with the connectors it ran unexpedly. Actually found the coolant level in the expansion tank low. Filled it to level and all seems to be fine now.............................for now. Plus I think I had the connectors on the radiator sensor reveresed.
Thanks again for the input
