Thank you Bill for representing the rest of us who shed tears for Andre and his family. I couldn't have done a better job.

Very tragic story... I'm deeply sorry for the family and their loss.

I don't know anything about Andre's 928 but I do hope Calvin continues with the car (if that is what interests him). I am very certain as a community that we will all support him!

Indeed,Bill, your eulogy was wonderful. You even got a laugh when you mentioned Andre's numerical advantage in the "kids choice awards". It was good to hear the laughter.

I'll keep checking in here on Rennlist from time to time, because each time I read the words you all write, I feel a little of Andre's spirit visits with me for a moment. Thank you for caring. I wish you all the comfort of your memories and the joy you find in your hobby.

Bill and Val,

Bill - Great comments about Andre and his place in your local and our international community. Very well done, and thank you for sharing them with all of us.

Val - There will be many bad times, but so glad you enjoyed the short moment of laughter that Bill's comments about the "kids awards" brought. Laughter and smiles about the good times your family and everyone shared with Andre will be helpful in the days and months ahead. SO glad to hear you will come back to visit us on occasion.

God Bless,

Gary--

What a heartbreaking and yet inspiring thread. I had to get into my car and go to a nearby meet to see if I ran into some porsche buddies I haven't seen in a while.

I didnt know Andre other than having read some of his posts. Just a reminder if how fleeting our time here is and how complicated and beautiful we are.

Val, it's hard for me to comprehend what your going through. I pray that somehow you find an empowering meaning in all of this for your kids and yourself. May God bless you and your family.

Wow, I had no idea. I haven't checked in for a while, We've been preoccupied with the house.

This is very sad news. Andre was one of a kind. Intelligence, wit, a ready smile... I will miss him. Val, my condolences and best wishes for you and the kids. I'll look through my photos for good ones of Andre. If I find any I'll post here.

I need to sell Andre's beloved Porsche 928. The kids are furious with me about selling it, but I just can't keep it, for a number of reasons. I told them I'd try to find it " a good home". I'm thinking that you folks are the best home it could get.

Ideally, an out of state buyer, with fewer smog-issues might want it. But meanwhile, I'm getting some pressure from a go-between who is pushing me to practically give it away.

Some local guy (friend of a friend contact) is putting the pressure on me to let some dude just name his price and pretty much steal it for whatever he wants to pay. Can you guys give me a ballpark figure on what it might be worth? Nicole had said perhaps around 5K, best case. I need to sell it, get it out of here, and put the money toward school for my three younger kids for next year. I hate to just let some guy steal it from me, though. It's a 1981 928 S, with a Greg Roberts rebuilt G 28 / 13 transmission in it. Paint needs work, interior is very, very good. Keeps failing smog, though, so we'd have to do some kind of PNO or a written waiver (and a good faith understanding that you won't come back to me to void the sale when it fails smog again )

Any thoughts, folks? Thanks, Val Hedrick (Andre's widow)

Hey, Val - good to see you stop by.

Perhaps start a new thread, titled 'Andre's 928 For Sale' and add pictures and as much detail as possible.

The gang here will assist.

Thanks, Mark.. I can't keep any data on this thing straight. I couldn't even figure out where to post this notice. I know I should have pictures... I'll get there.

Again, thanks.

Thanks for that pointer, Randy. I will see if I can get some pictures going and figure out how to start that new thread.
