MPvIII is a ***** to get to, not sure why they had to bury earths under other components, as if a few cm would make that much difference.
And yes, don't mix up CPS wires.....been there .....hmmm

I have a 91 S4 and my CPS is marked with BG on a yellow band on the wire.

I don't have my original sensor close enough to verify. But....

IIRC, The ground (shield) terminal should not have any continuity to the other two pins. That leaves the polarity/direction of the other two a guess. But at least the shield wire should be obvious by meter resistance test.
