Hi Rob
They are not bothered at all, and mine is rarely used drag racing any more...
I have more safety than they are used to anyway...
They dont insist on harnesses...I have 6 point harnesses...
They dont insist on helmets on RWYB days...I always wear a helmet...
They dont insist on Race seats...I have a Momo Race seat...
They dont insist on Extinguishers...I have two...
To be honest, their idea of safety is...dont wear a short sleeved top....I wear a 3 layer Nomex Race suit (with all the Nomex undewear, gloves, boots etc...
So they would never even notice body alterations...and certainly not care....
Its why I look after my own safety in such an over the top manner...I have seen several people die when I was drag racing professionally in Top Fuel...and each time it was caused by LACK of safety.....either through bad safety equipment or personal safety stupidity...
All the best Brett

I've seen all that bells and whistles self promotion once before, and I wasn't referring to that.
I was visualising Hackers reference to 'taking off to Scotland' or 'back to the future .. 1985' ... and the 2000mph, or whatever, which has been referred to ad nauseum .... that's what I'd like to see vids of ... but I know I won't.

I seriously looked into it awhile ago. The plan was to install vertical doors and then I changed my mind and wanted voodoo style doors. The 928 has a window frame. Cars with window frames look kinda lame with vertical (lambo) doors. The "angel wings" or "butterfly doors" such as the ones shown above that are similar to an Enzo's doors look pretty good IMHO. The voodo doors are super cool as well but the problem I was facing is that these "kits" require alot of welding. Alot of that welding is done to the door assembly itself because there is no "kit" for our car. We would have to use the universal kit. These kits are steel and our doors are aluminum. In order to make these kits work you would need to engineer some sort of bolt in structural steel components to weld to. Or you could re-engineer portions of the aftermarket hinge out of aluminum. For the "angel wing" style doors you would also likely need to reenforce the A pillar. For Gullwing doors you would need to cut the roof apart and reenforce the heck out of it. That would be the most work but it looks sweet. It's alot more involved than you might originally think it is.

Hi
The way I look at safety is this.... that 13 second run ends at 113 mph, and IF i blew a tyre at 113, and rolled the 928 or hit the Armco, and caught fire, then I suspect I might survive in a little better shape than if I was wearing a long sleeved top with an ordinary seat belt...
