Default Help - Need engine compartment photos 86.5 928

I have made a big mistake.

I have repainted my intake manifold and changed all cam cover seals, gaskets and O-rings, oil filler seal, and thermostat housing big o-ring and seals.

My mistake was not taking lots of photos before I took it apart.

Does anyone have photos of both sides of the intake manifold area, plenoms removed, and also photos of everything in the vee area under the intake, with all intake manifolds removed?

This would have made it much easier to put back together.

Thanks

It may be covered in these 3 videos:

If not, I am looking for some photos. I am pretty sure I've seen them here.

Cool, not real sure where you were stuck, but those photos show a bit of an atypical setup. I delete the vacuum lines to the smog controls. I use an external crank case breather, delete the mechanical fan, delete the smog pump, reroute the carbon canister to the rear tank vent, delete the test sensor that sits behind the CPS up near the firewall that bolts to the rear intake runner, delete and cap the exhaust test tubes, and delete a bunch of little brackets here and there. I don't have any detailed pics of the stock setup as I usually never do the top end the way the WSMs call for. So if you are looking for something that is not there it is probably deleted on mine.

@Shane - Do you recall what size bolt/plugs you put in the Exhaust test tubes?

How is the External Crank case breather working for you and will it fit with the mechanical fan in place?

Huh? What?

Hey, how's it going?

I think those pics are about as good as it gets. Not sure if I can offer anything better.

Here's a link to my intake refresh documentation. I'm not sure if there are enough pics to get you where you need to be, but it might help.

Good luck!

I used the stock caps that were at the top, I just used a small tubing cutter to cut the line 3" or so uo from the headers and capped them. Those lines were broken and leaking.

The sharkvent hasn't been used yet but I'm sure with it and the other mods I've done it will work as advertised. You can use it with the stock fan, all I've done is remove the fan blades, shaft, and bearings but still keep the stock housing for my throttle linkage to bolt to.

Hey, is that link documentation no longer available? I've been looking for a intake refresh for an 86.5 but haven't found a graphically documented version.

any leads would be appreciated.
