Hi, I'm new to rennlist and Porsche. I have a 1984 red 928. In California. It needs a lot of work. I replaced fuel pump, fuel filter. Now I started taking front of engine apart because I want to redo head gaskets and fix all leaks. Car runs. The problem I have is I took off fuel rails but there are wires connected to them that seem to go towards passenger compartment. I've searched everywhere but can't figure out how to disconnect these. Any help. Thanks!
Wires tied to fuel rail by zip ties.

Cut the zip ties as they are easy to replace.

And, to do the work you are talking about, it's Way Easier to pull the engine and put it in a stand so you can get everything cleaned and resealed. Head gaskets way easier, in particular the cam towers and their gaskets/seals/etc are a lot easier to get correct the first time if you can rotate the engine to get them straight up.
Guessing from your pictures that you'll be replacing all the rubber pieces too. Take lots of pictures as you disassemble, and group your parts as they come off so they go back on correctly and in the correct order. Clean and tidy things up, and the car will be a lot easier keep running well down the road.

Thank you Dr Bob. So far I'm putting everything in plastic bags and labelling the bags and also taking videos/pix as I do each step. I'll search the postings for how to remove the engine. I would have to roll it to my side yard to work on it. Thank you.
