Default suggestions for PPI places in San Diego?

hi all,

any suggestions for a decent PPI place in San Diego?

car is between SD and LA.

as the seller will be out of the country starting next week, im trying to get this done this week sometime (it's already mid week).

Precision has openings at the end of next week so that may not work.

i made suggestions of Hauer's in Van Nuys but it's kind of far.

anyone heard of european motor sports in Vista, CA? i called them but they see 5-10 sharks per year.

i'd prefer to take the car to Precision and wait until when the seller gets back (prob about a month) but i'm trying to see if i can make it happen sooner.

thanks for your suggestions!

Any shop other than Precision will be second rate when it comes to a 928 PPI.

A possible suggestion in SD would be Brad's Foreign Service in Encinitas. Talk to Roger and ask him about 928-savvy mechanics working there.

Precision would be a 1st choice of course. With my 968 coming from San Diego, I had Pioneer Porsche look it over for me & I was satisfied. I also spoke to the independent shop Black Forest(I believe?), & they seemed well known & recommended by several. But what do I know, I'm in Fla. Good Luck!

Anything in San Diego will be far INferior to what you will get at Precision. You will just have to wait. There are people here that would go put eyes on the car for you, but a full "up the rear" exam will be much better done at Precision.

Most of the people in San Diego that pose as actual Porsche mechanics are untrained yahoos.

Get one of the savvy local guys to preview the car, then if its a go do whatever it takes to get it inspected by Greg.

Details on the car might not hurt, unless its a great deal and somebody just buys it as soon as its revealed. Hint, if you found it on CL its not a secret rare incredible deal.

Ah, I forgot. Nice to know only 120 miles away is an expert. Thanks Mr. kluger esel.

I bought my 928 from the place I suggested. Nice guy and always has 928's in for service. Always is full with 911, boxters, caymans and every time I stop by another 928 is there. He dirives a 928. His son drove a 928 until I bought it.

Mary mentioned to me that you needed this car checked out, next week.

What day works best?

Are people still recommending Performance Independent Porsche?
I've read nothing but good stuff about this place. I'm about to take my 2003 Boxster to service and looking for options.

Thanks,
Juha
