Installed mine yesterday. The cover did not exactly fit the curves of the sheet metal at the front, on my 86.5, but did push on just fine. Fits great, very nice.
Thanks

I'm glad to hear it works for you too. I found a little variation in the shape of the front sheetmetal edges on my cars, but the plastic is flexible enough and close enough so that I expect we are going to find that "one size fits all."

If anyone has not read the first post in this thread about prices and ordering instructions, please do so. My email for paypal payment, again, is:

Let me know if you have any questions about which Cover and/or Shell Sticker is correct for your application, or if you may desire to "upgrade" to a later version of the Shell Sticker for any reason.

So Jerry - full speed ahead on the rear wheel liners now? - you know I'm on the list for those too...

...and I know I'm far from alone...

OK, Don. That's actually next week. I plan to be there early to mid afternoon on thursday. I'll have the stickers, the Cowl Covers and some Spare Tire Covers for the big event with me. I'll be in touch a little later about the details of our meeting up in the Houston area.

Hi Joel. I thought I had already sent the address, but I guess it didn't go. I sent it again by PM. Thanks for the order. I'll get it out right away. The cars that have the intensive washer bottle have it on the drivers side, both LHD and RHD. I'm sure you dont have one there either.

Jerry,

Have you ever thought about making replacement front and rear panels for the interior? That is another sore spot on these cars with age. Just curious..

Dan - hold that thought until after Jerry finishes the rear wheel well liners...

I have seen in the last year or so that someone on here and/or on eBay is making ABS plastic replacement 928 door panels. They are kind of expensive, but given what it takes to make the forms for this kind of stuff I wouldn't complain if I needed them.

I doubt that there is much of a market for the rear quarter interior panels, but they could be made, probably in two pieces each.

But, they are correct, I really need to get the rear Wheel Well Liners done and into production. That is my current focus and will be until I get er done.

Dan87951 and Jerry,

Rob Budd of the Detroit area makes the ABS plastic replacement door panels, as I recall. He also posted a "recovery" technique" for the rear interior quarter panels that are warped a year or so back. You might find it by doing a search.

PS: Jerry - glad the other items are completed, and that you'll get the wheel well liners design completed during your upcoming trip to TX. As Alan said, he "is far from alone"!! Keep up the good work for our cars.

I'm aware Rob makes the front panels and there very rich! I'm more interested in the rear panels which Rob does not make. Be cool if someone could fill that void!

Best product for 2012!. Shipping is fast and the cowl cover arrives in a wooden frame so it can't be damaged.
Installation in my 1982 OB is perfect fit. Tight and secure, looks like an OEM cover should have been.

Thanks Jerry

Thanks You Tony for your report.

I have also had a couple of great reports from two of the OB guys, the ones with 78 to 82 928s, and they have reported being very pleased with the new covers even though those cars do not have the tabs in the back to hold up the back edge of the covers. What they are reporting is that the covers I have made are both rigid enough and have a sufficient back ledge that caused them to stay fairly firm up against the metal cowl piece at the back, and without tabs to hold them up. I think that simply the rigid body of the covers is allowing the grip at the front edge to hold the back up. Too, I think the better fit of these at the back edge and the foam seal is contributing to that.

Buyers of these covers are also finding my packaging design interesting.
