The factory RHD one is cheaper than the LHD version. I fitted a new factory RHD one 6 years ago to my 89 and its still fine, fitted another new factory one to my '87 a year or so ago.

IIRC it was about $35 last time, but don't quote me on that.

(edit: I checked and I did pay $35 about 18 months ago. The same supplier now has them for $US38)

Would you be able to send me a clooe-up picture of your cover, the part on your driver's side with the Intensive washer cutout? I want to try to verify if that is exactly opposite from the ones we drive up here.
Hi Jerry, I will PM you some photos just taken. Hope they assist.

Cheers

Interesting. But are the factory units still made in the lightweight flimsy plastic?? Jerry's are made in much more durable and robust material.

i'm not sure that you can. Why don't you just send them to my email:

jfeather@bresnan.net

Thanks.

I just installed Jerry's cowl cover into my shark. What a fantastic product. Fits like a glove.

Jerry's cover feels "OEM" to me, while the stock cover seems "aftermarket." And the seal has a nifty liner in it as well- a great touch.

Thanks, Jerry.

My Pleasure, Scott, and thanks for the great report.

Tony, I got the pictures and they show just what I expected. The RHD drive covers are very much exactly opposite.

I have two of the forms almost converted to RHD now including all of the machine work and much of the fill-in of original LHD openings, and now ready to lay up the details of the openings for the RHD. I would say that I am about 80 percent there.

I suspect I will finish these two forms up this weekend and take them to the plastics guy to vacu-form some for me for the RHD guys, sometime this coming week. Look for an announcement about them in a few days.

Finally, almost, I have one of the forms finished that I have been converting to RHD from LHD, and the other one is 99%. When some more epoxy sets I'll have it done also.

Then, I told my plastics guy yesterday that I was going to need some of these vacu-formed and he told me that his guy that does that will be off this coming week and probably will be pretty busy catching up when he gets back. It looks like it is going to be about two weeks before I'll be able to ship some of these South, and maybe to the UK, and wherever else they drive on the other side of the road.

I'll start a thread about these when I have some of them in hand and can post some pictures.

One thought is that you guys in N.Z. and AU might want to think about a group buy or buys to save on the shipping, kind of like we did with the Spare Tire Covers just before Xmas.

I have started a new thread for the RHD Cowl Covers that I have finally got into production. They are available in both formats, those with the Intensive washer cut out and those without. As stated here and in the other thread I still have the period correct Shell Stickers for any of these that had them originally.

When you order one of these Cowl Covers from me, either LHD or RHD, please tell me the MY of the 928 it is for. And now I guess you better say LHD or RHD also. Thanks.

I think if I know the model year of the car I will know where the intensive washer is, unless it has been moved for some reason.

My recent posts about the installation of one of these new Cowl Covers in my 90 GT has stimulated some inquiry about these, so I thought I would bumb this thread for those interested.
