I need help identifying this circlip
I am almost finished with my TB/WP and Intake R&R and I thought thing where going great until this circlip turned up on my workbench. I cannot remember where it came from. I have been following Dwanye's writeups on how to do these projects. (Thanks Dwayne), but I geuss somewhere along the way I missed something. I am at the piont of putting the fuel rails on, but dont want to go any further until I find out where this goes. I hope I dont have to take to much apart to fix this.
Thanks
Heres some pics of the circlip

Hey Paul, I'm pretty sure its not that one. #28 in that pic has holes in the ends of the clip to put the pliers in to spred it open. Plus those plug are much wider then this clip. This one you have to slide onto a post with a grove in it .

Hi Erik,
First off, nice engine bay!
Taking a stab at this, it looks like it might have come off the actuator arm for the light bar mechanism. Can't do the fancy PET diagram posting, but it looks like the same kind used for that purpose.
By the way, the plastic electrical jumper cover should be repositioned so the plastic groove slips over the body edge.

Thanks Constantine, I havent done anything to the light bar mech. so I dont think it for that.
as for the jump post cover , thanks for the heads up. I actually just put it on there temp. for the pics. I knew someone would say something about it if I didnt have it on there. It's funny , that the first thing people look for and its a $10 part

Hi Erik,
I would double check the light bar mechanism just in case. There have been instances when the light bar actuator arm came off under operation because the clip fell off and punctured the radiator.
As for the plastic cover, yes only a $10.00 part, but it not being there can cause many hours and dollars chasing and repairing eletrical problems in a 928.
Good luck with your investigation!

it looks like a E clip for the headlight motor actuator arm ,
it could be a double as a new E clip may have been installed and the one you have got lodged at the bottom of the radiator.
