Default 928's IN THE SHOP THIS WEEK

Busy week: TWO 928 GTS's in the shop this week & others: 1. '95 GTS 5 spd with 14,000 miles for a timing belt, etc. 2. '94 GTS Auto. w/36,000 that keeps killing its battery. 3. '83 5 spd - finishing up t-belt etc. & misc. repairs 4. '79 928 that hasn't run in several years - resurrection. 5. '86.5 S3 for check up.

So why am I here on RL? I need an apprentice...any takers?

Yes, would need room, lunch, & beer on Fridays.
Plus the ability to work on my car in spare time.
Fair?

I would love to spend the winter in Raleigh. Would 30yrs as a machinist and owing 5 928's count towards my apprenticship? Oh I like to drink beer on Friday afternoon after 4pm, of course.

If I could find someone to sit with the wife for a while I would be glad to come help. Maybe work off some of the bill for having mine in there. Not only that, I would love it. However, with no family in the area, it is just me and she is no where near ready to be alone.

However, I might could give you a couple hours here and there if it would help. We would just have to schedule it.

Let me know, you have my number. By the way, I put the shark in the air today, removed all four wheels and gave the suspension a good looking over. The break light warning was not lieing at all. I will order new shoes from Roger tomorrow. Has some pretty wide spacers in the rear maybe 1/2" and looks pretty damn good if I must say so myself. So, no easy answer to the death rattle from 60 and above. Will be taking the wheels/tires in tomorrow to have them speed balanced. So, She does have the potential to become a really nice car.

Thanks Frank but I was looking for someone more along the lines of a runway model! Someone who I wouldn't mind watching as they work.

Most likely trolling for business, not that there is anything wrong with that ! Put the bait in the water and drag it through this pond.

I say put full contact info for your shop in your sig, people need to know about good shops. ***

OTOH this is a bad place for anybody with even one unhappy customer.

***I have no idea what the forum rules are though.

Actually, put it on NorCal928.org as Bill Ball has a tracking list of shops.

Ray is THE only guy I would take my car to in this area. He doesn't need RL to help business, his work and the way he treats his customers speak for themselves!

Ray, I do think it would be good to get your contact info on the OC board though. I know you are generally as busy as you can stand though! I would love to lend a hand if you needed it occasionally.

Ray has been around for a very long time, and has a stellar reputation.
