Default How I spent my Saturday

Two new motor mounts and a lot of cleaning. Thats how I spent my Saturday. Hopefully the intake and cam covers will be back this week. Next Saturday the engine goes back where it belongs.... stay tuned !

Looking good.

If you have the funds available now, get the coolant reservoir, windshield washer pump, and the A/C line that goes from the expansion valve to drier changed, easier with nothing in the way.

I agree that you should replace the coolant reservoir now - it is very difficult to do with the engine in place, and you will have to do it sooner or later. In fact, I would suggest to replace all coolant hoses that you can reach before the engine goes back in.

Also agreed on the AC line. I have an ugly replacement line going above the right side of the engine, because I did not want to pay for engine removal when mine went bad...

Looking really good. Pulling that engine was a great decision. Man, how do you work in such a small garage?

I replaced the washer pump. I dont know how you could do that with the engine still in. I hadn't thought about the coolant tank and a/c line. Both look to be in good condition but if you guys say its a good idea then I'm gonna replace them. As for my small, dark work space...I work for a Volvo dealer and the owner is a really awesome guy. Hes really into Porsche's and is letting me work on a spare lift in the
detail bay. I don't know how you guys have done this in your garages, layin on the floor, etc. You all have my respect ! Its not easy and I haven't even gotten to the hardest part... putting it back in !

my saturday, my fuel pump/filter/strainer/hose.

next my MM, OPG, and MSDS headers. sure would be easier w/out the engine in the way. it was because of my plan for MM I grabbed this set of headers. not as easy as when the engine is out, but as good as it will be with engine in.
