Since Hacker quoted the other Tony, I'm going to assume he was talking about his brake light mod.

That's not the point (and yes, I personally know people pulled over for non-OEM tail lights).

Point is, be careful.

Just think if you modify / remove a federally mandated, DOT stamped, 3rd brake light and get into an accident. The other guys insurance adjuster notices the modification and pleads a case you are at fault (even though his client slammed into the back of you), due to this mod.
Why? For starters any car this type of mod is not technically street legal and you modified a safety device that would be directly involved in why his client rear-ended you.
There is a good chance you will lose that case.

That's all I'm saying and yes, it has happened.

In my experience, and I was in law enforcement for 25 years, unless it's blatantly unsafe, or they're looking for a reason to pull you over for an investigative stop, i.e., either they think you're involved in a crime of some sort, or the officer is being pushed to generate stats, local law is not generally interested in enforcing equipment violations; it's when you get stopped by state LEO's that you're likely to get dinged, and then it can be very costly indeed.

That being said, Hacker is correct.

Default Autozone LED's

I wanted to keep the lights invisible unless the brake lights or turn signals/hazard flashers were activated, and also not alter the appearance of the exterior. Here is the car with the hazard flashers activated (but no LED's):
Did they have 4 test buttons? Do you recall what they were called?
