Default Instrument cluster illumination

Hello everyone.

I just purchased a 1983 928 5-speed 58k. I have ordered an owners manual on line, but, in the meantime, until it arrives, can anyone direct me to the instrument light illumination adjustment? I have looked all over, but cannot find it anywhere.

Also, is there a repair manual in CD form. I have heard the written service manuals are hundreds $.

Thanks.

Check this link for owner's manuals, posted by Andrew Olson (AO).

You should also call or email Roger at 928sRUs and order the Jim Morehouse CDs.

Thanks to you all and thanks for the tip to the owner's manual. Now I wish I had not spent the $35 bucks on the used one. But I guess it's nice to have the paper version in the car. Of course, any time you can get by with $35, I count it as lucky.

Again, many thanks and take care!

The dimmer switches imho are to little to late and the lights are barley bright enough as it is. With an old dirty dimmer reostat that might be intermitant as it is I just connect the two wires at the dimmer together directly and forget about it. There has also been some thought that the dimmer switches actually get hot and catch fire on rare occasions although I myself have never seen any evidence of this.
