Default Duc's Trans swap

So i wanted an LSD trans, and after talking to many people i decided to go with an early "rock crusher" LSD trans. i do love the nochy feeling you get when shifting, lets me know of positive gear selection. My local shop found an early LSD trans with "80k" on the clock in good shape........ NOT. moisture was in it and it won't rotate, awesome. there goes some coin. so this coming week we are going to take it apart and see whats up, replace what is needed (he has a few donor trans, and I'm about to take mine out as well) and get this puppy going. i just hope the LSD is in good shape.

Today i got everything off but the crossmember and trans. the lower control arm eccentrics on the crossmember were corroded on bad, had to use a saws-all to chop them off. thank god i have other ones.

can you get replacement boots for the parking brake cable where the cables join on the crossmember?

PS> Porkens lift bars..... i have no idea how i lived without them... ill post some pics soon.

HF has a cheap transmission adapter for a floor jack you might want to consider. Last pict worked, but nothing in post #5.

I didn't see the adapter on the HF web site, but here is a pict of the trans jack. Note the ability to adjust in fine detail the orientation of the transmission in two axis. That is a key feature you will need when putting it back in and aligning it to the torque tube etc.
