Ah, you mean these? The bearing, thrust washer and spacer were set aside. How's your project going?

Bill,
I am not sure that is the one I am talking about. In the right side picture on post # 38, is that not the primary pump hub that requires a thrust washer on the end and will cover the oil journal that is showing.
In the WSM it shows a thrust washer which my 88 trans had when I did this job a couple weeks ago. Now we are doing HB4's and his is a 89 which does not have this thrust washer installed. I thought since yours was a 89 I might have a better idea if one should be present. He has started a thread that you have already responded to (thank you) which is titled "vibration what's next" He has posted new pictures which might help to clear this up if you get time to take a peek.

Here is a photo of my '89 primary pump. There is no thrust washer at '2', but it looks like either the throat was machined as if it was there, or it's there as a pressed on hat bushing.

The thrust washer in Thomas' '88 is item 1 in the PDF attachment below.
