Guess I should have expounded. Does the 928 PS pump have the same dimensions as the 944. I have seen pics and it looks exactly the same for the Vane pump. I know 928 changed pump styles. Just curious if my LS-944 PS bracket would fit the earlier 928 pump.
My LS2 will be built in a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The intial quote is 494hp.....485 torque.......all from an engine I paid $1200 for......cams really wake up factory LS engines....
Still haven't decided where to install it.......but I'll figure it out

Also make sure you pick up an accusump too, lots of talk on the racing forum recently about LSX grenade potential in high G corners.

I designed my bracket to mount to the rear of the 944 PS pump. It is a light weight ALUMINUM pump that rebuilds with a $20 Rennbay kit.... here's the measurements I'm talking about.... From the 928 pump pics I've seen it looks exactly the same dimensions as this 944 pump....

when you get the set up properly, it will look like this in extreme cases. you might want to plan for it with the fenderwells blown out much higher as you do get some travel if it is sprung right for handling.

Mark K, that's a very good point... the wheel wells will be cut out much higher than they are currently when I permanently install the flares, that should hopefully solve any rubbing issues. They are actually held on by a piece of duct tape in the pics
Once cut it should look something like this:

Nice conversion to the Chev SB.
Considered that if my 928 engine should ever go out but after 7 years and mostly my daily driver it still runs good and just passed smog check again.
How much difference is there in the dimensions of a 1960s Chev 327 and the LS engines.
The reason I ask is I put a 327 in a '62 Jaguar XKE Roadster in the early 1970s.
That was after burning a hole in 3 of the Jag pistons while "passing" one of the real expensive sports car going up a fairly long grade on the cheapest gas available. After passing him and the thick smoke started coming out my exhaust and enough to block his view he backed off.
After pricing parts at a Jag dealer the engine got swapped.
The used 327 engine ran great with very little maintenance. The Jag was last licensed until 1980 and was put in storage.
Just started tinkering with it last week but will put an LS engine and another trans in it before much else.
If the engine size is about the same it should be an easy replacement.

New rear fender flares and brake ducts... ZG front flares didnt cover the tires enough, ended up using the rears flares up front and getting a wider set of rear flares on ebay for $70
Clearance from tire to fender is 3.5" up front and 4" rear... hopefully that will be enough

Nice! I like the old Chevy SB idea! (done a few) The LS is a bit too light but the LS-based cast iron truck blocks do a better job of keeping the frt/rr weight balance where it should be. Also, a lot more new mods and parts being deleloped every day for the newer engines! Aluminum "LS" engines do well in the 944 Chassis!

Damn that looks tough. Can't wait to see some on track vids.

After 3 years I'm really starting to get sick of crap always going wrong...
Got the car to the dyno, only to find that is about 100whp short of where it should be... either bad valve seals or blown rings.
All gauges read normal, but car feels sluggish and smokes quite a bit.
Ended up with 462tq and 437hp (392rwtq and 362rwhp)
