Default 3'' exhaust system on 16v Euro S

Thought you guys might be interested to see what my local exhaust specialist have welded up:

Started with an 2x 2.25'' Y-pipe going to 2.5'' collector, then expanding to 3''.
The downpipes are the original Porsche ones (to keep costs down):

Directly after the Y-pipe, there's a race muffler, resistant to very high temperatures, packed with special stuff to keep noise down for on race tracks with tight regulations:

The front end of the system than looks like this:

Total system:

Seen from the rear:

And side:

I'm very, very happy with the end result. My previous system was the standard twin pipes, squashed at the subframe and one could not hear there was a V8 in.
So I removed the pumpkin which resulted in too much noise...
Now, there's a very deep rumble and no droning in the highway.

I don't know for performance, but the MS had to be reprogrammed for revised injection times

I like it! Would love to hear it. Now that the 81 is running, exhaust is the next project on my 83.

I don't know why but that rear muffler looks like it's rubbing on the transmission case.

I bet that sounds amazing.

There was a 16v Euro at Frenzy (Sorry, can't remember the owners name) and it had a similar set up that was one of the best cars sounds I've heard.

The 16V sound far better than 32V, in my opinion. And making huge generalization..

The mufflers are absorption ones, don't know the brand, but they're made of Stainless 304, have 3 smaller perforated tubes inside, and aren't packed with cheap glass wool that will blow out after few 1000's of miles. I even have guarantee for life on the system!

I agree that it seems that the rear muffler hits the transmission. But it's still about 40 mm apart. It had to be at that strange angle because of the central exit of the muffler, which had to be positioned in the direction of the opening in the subframe.

I totally love the sound! With the quick revving V8, it sounds like a full race car.
