Default 928 at Rennsport Reunion lV

There weren't any. After 2 days and miles of walking I haven't seen a single 928. Very disappointing considering the turnout in Daytona.

WTF????

It was a PCNA event, no one goes to those things

Obviously that's the overall attitude of owners of these cars. Really pathetic because once a week someone posts how the PCA doesn't care about the 928 when in reality its the other way around.

Not to mention this was a PORSCHE AG supported event not only a PCA event

I would be a bit disappointed also, but there is no surprise to me.

Quick example, you know how large of a 928 contingent we have here in DFW, the local PCA also knows. We have invited them to our events on many occasions, including OCIC, sort of extending the olive branch. Not one representative has come. There have been many occasions we've gone to PCA events here and have had less than stellar experiences.

I will say that I am pretty good friends with the elected reps here in DFW and they seem content to let us be our own club even though they know they could get 100 to 200 more members if they were the least bit cordial. I find it very odd and amusing when we've heard some 944 owners making snide comments at these events, towards our cars.

There's a reason 95% of the 928 owners are not members of PCA.

What's that reason? Because I've been to 928 specific events sponsored by the PCA and the relationship is solid both ways. Why not in Texas? And why can't that change? The PCA has no angst with the 928 and in fact wishes the owners would become more active in the club.

Maybe because 3rd Coast, and Sharktoberfest happened at about the same time. I've had to work, and couldn't attend any event this year. Attending an event for our cars is a better investment of my time than a PCNA event, IMHO.

I do have to agree with Sean. Even here at Cars & Coffee, 928's are looked down on by other Porsche owners. But they all come around when I dive my Pantera.

Ive had my 928s at countless events and get nothing but love. And I wouldn't give 2 ****s about what an owner of another series thinks of the 928. I struggle to understand "looked down on". What they stood there pointing fingers laughing or something?

ScottC and I are just now hopping on a plane in SJC after this event and we saw four or five S4s a couple OBs and one GTS from Oregon. We met a few folks on the streets of Monterey that were 928rs. One 82 with his wife from NorCal and a guy leaving the event with a red 84. Nice folks, all took the time to talk. The event itself was worth the time and money to fly out and see. The races were a blast to watch and even Jerry Seinfeld was running his car in the historic races and then walking through the paddocks thing to folks.
I will be sure to put this one on the list for the next one. I will post pics and video when I get back.

BTW, there were folks taking pics of the 928s since there was only four of them there amongst several hundred 911s....

Porsche parking but not on the hill side above the track. It was out with 944s past the Porsche paddock.

There are close to 40 928 owners within a hours drive of the Greensboro Cars & Coffee location. I have posted it up 3 months in a row. How many showed up?

1 at the first one and he has not returned.

Polecat has a point, but that is slightly a self-fulfilling prophecy. The few times I see another 928 in public it is one of the neglected beat ones, with horrible paint. I don't know what it is, I just wish more 928'rs would get out and mix with the other cars and do so with their car in top form.

And Sean's fist comment was funny. And Abby, your avatar looks great in that line-up.
