S4 horn sound
OK, my S4 horn sounds so wimpy it is like a clown car. Is this normal, or is something broken? It sounds like only one tone is sounding or something when more should be sounding.

My horns were the same when I took the car. Simply went to a NAPA store and bought low and high frequency horns off the shelf. Same size - perfect fit. Now, sounds like a strong horn, and this is what I want when I need it.

Theres a recent thread re. Seans car getting hit where a Lister describes fitting new horns from NAPA that made considerable difference.
I'm looking into this also......the horns need to be less Mickey Mouse.

Edit: was waiting for my oil to be boxed and saw the horns. First time I heard them I was startled by the deep loud sound. No more 'meep-meep'. Even turns the heads of the deer on the side of the road.

My horn is loud enough and I like the "Euro" sound of it. It's not a Chevy, so I don't want the horn to sound like one. My .02.

I had someone run into me as I watched her do it -- the horn was so soft it was a waste. I was leaning on it. So I replaced it with an Italian Air Horn and it sounds EXCELLENT.

You probably have some tiny debris (stones/pebbles) lodged inside the horn itself, they get in between the metal diaphram and plastic housing which changes the sound. Simply remove the horns, disassemble, and put back together, it'll be obvious if something's stuck in there.

When I bought my 928, the horn didnt work worth a crap. Some lady almost backed into me in a parking lot because she couldn't hear the car's horn.
First mod/upgrade I did to my 928 S4 was to install one of those "Bad Boy" horns like the one Borland showed above. Works great and sounds like a million dollars.
