Question: Is that your car in the background at 2:15?

Sure looks like it. Here's a shot of Joe's car after tech and parking at the car show, the only gray 928 GTS at the race.

And one of my car at tech with Rick in the background checking out Ted's Vet.

One of Rick's car at the starting grid.

And one of the Supersport driver's and navigators talking at the start line (including Rick and Merle).

As you can see, it was a beautiful day.

Default Eerie...

Um, yes, I believe it is. I remember hearing Merle Hill asking Steve Mott (the chief tech inspector) if he had to go to the Navigator's meeting just after that picture was taken. Steve's answer was a resounding, "Yes"!

I didn't want to mix too much ORR stuff into Carl's thread, so I'll post it here. Jim Peruto was going
for a record run at this event. He had done an 198.1820 avg at the May event into a 30-40 mph
head wind. So I'm sure he could make a 200+ average run on a clear, calm, cool day. But I figure
he was on the course only 18 minutes when the accident happened, which at 216 is about 65 miles
out. If he stopped right there, it would be before the Narrows, and give him a big advantage. They
would use the time from when he passed check point 6. If he was able to finish the entire course,
because it takes time to communicate what happened and react, then it would definitely be a major
accomplishment.
