Yellow 1982 5 speed no longer for sale !
The major highlight of this car is it's fantastic Glasurit paint job. Yes, you have to like yellow and no, the painted rims might not do it for you but when you consider the value of a first rate paint job this would be a great car to grab.
The car belongs to a friend of mine (Walter)who is a body shop owner. About twenty years ago I asked him to PPI this car for me body-wise to be sure it had never been hit. The car checked out fine but I decided to just keep the one I had and get it painted. Walter asked if he could buy the car and he has owned it ever since. He did a complete disassembly and repaint in this Porsche yellow.
All of the car's systems have been well cared for over the years and the car has been driven regularly. At one point, Walter drove it to from MA out to California and then back again a few months later. The car just had a transmission rebuild and clutch replacement done about 200 miles ago. The engine sounds great, starts right up and idles smoothly. This is a very good running car that can be enjoyed as is. The car has 150,0000 miles on the clock.
The interior is in good shape for its age, showing the normal bagginess in the front seat cushions but no holes, worn out or torn spots. The dash looks very good with one small crack on the right end. The pod has been repaired and the console is showing some shrinkage in the leather. The rear quarters look very good. The sunroof covering is missing but available from my parts car. I probably have a sunroof motor also and would throw them in as I intended to give them to Walter anyway.
The "issues" ... Every older 928 seems to have a couple :>)
The water pump is weeping. Belt service has never been neglected, but it is ready for a pump and belt.
The AC compressor may be shot. Likely needs to be replaced and recharged.
The sunroof works but is "slow".
There are a few tiny stone chips on mirrors and above the headlights. Very minor and easily brush touched, I can send close up pictures of them.
He is looking for $6,000.00 and will include a spare 5spd non-LSD transmission that was going to be installed before he opted for the rebuild instead.

It looks to be well cared for. The paint is glossy, and the interior shows much less than average wear for a 928 of that age.
It's always easier to fix a few mechanical issues than to redo the cosmetics.
I agree that this would be great for anyone who likes yellow.

A nice set of wheels would give this car a whole different look. In my opinion it would be 100% improvement but I understand some may love the color matched wheels.
