Thank you so much for your suggestions.
I especially like the velcro approach. Feels like James Bond (minus the flipping license plate).

A longterm question:
Does the front license plate look that bad?
Is it worth getting tickets every now and then?

@Nicole the holder from 928intl actually looks like a part that I saw in the box the previous owner gave me. I'll check it out.
@Tveltman I'm in LA so unfortunately I have to spend the money.

Get a tow hook and get someone to weld a plate bracket to it then screw in the hook. It will be a little off center, but it won't screw anything up yet will be firmly attached.

I've seen some Ferrari owners do this.

What Terrygt said" drill the plate use the existing holes". That's what I do every time I get her inspected. I love the German plate, I also have a plastic surround from Porsche Zentrum Berlin

I don't really have any screws. I need to check the box from the previous owner.
There's a lot of stuff in there.

Btw in Germany, everybody tries to get the smaller US sized license plates because they look so good.

In the US, everyone tries to get rid of the license plate altogether because it's just a radar trap (and ugly)

I've decided to get a rental car.
$30 rental vs. $68 plus shipping for the brackets.

The other reason is that my engine stalled (actually just turned itself off) two times when I hit the clutch after I had it in the shop. Not really a problem for me but I don't want that to happen while I park my car.
