I would love to know where he got his blanks from....

EDIT:

Contacted VR Wheels. They have my drawings and are checking to see if they have matching blanks.

FYI, They don't make the Autrostrada Monza wheels anymore.

Some two / three piece "Porsche" wheels have been made using a cut down stock wheel.....no comment on the engineering involved or the strength of such a wheel.

Just need someone to scan the 16 phone dial inner into a cad program...and then cut some billet blocks....into centers....drill for a common "hat"..and there you go..(easy right??? )

Love the phone dials.....have to get them on all my cars

I have the 16" phone dials in CAD. That was by far the easiest part.

Finding a properly sized forged billet, not that easy. Forged being the operative word. I wouldn't trust machining out of cast billet as far as I could throw that big hunk of aluminum.

good point Jim.... I'm sure those forged blocks are out there.....as the custom aftermarket wheels guys have them (Foose, Coddington, et. al)...but I guess the real question is.. How much ? I'm betting big dollars....

What about these guys...
http://www.allamericanwheel.com/wheels.html

Seem to have blanks that are forged. From looking at what they offer, one could get the offset right..and then machine the "phone dial" portion into the center... One piece phone dial in 18 x 10 and 18 x 9

The real question is... how deep? The high offset req'ment for the 928 + deeply shaped geometry of the phone dial would require a rather BIG (deep, thick) forged billet.

Alot of the CNC machined wheel design such as Foose, you will notice the lack of serious depth in the design.

I know that CCW can make an 18x10 with 9" backspacing out of thier forgings. I have some on the front of my car and they could be even less deep and still fit.
If you sent them a decent solid model that they could cut from, it shouldn't be too big a deal in theory.

Talked to them too. Don't have a deep enough blank to handle the deeper part of the phone dial design.
