I love the headlight cover helmets, Tony! I gotta get one of those, paint it Velvet Red, and put some Viking horns on it!

My thanks to the whole gang for putting this fantastic OCIC on! I had almost forgotten how great everyone is in the 928 community! What a special time it was and looking forward to many more events.

Made it back yesterday afternoon. Tried to make it all the way home on Sunday but just couldn't. Ended up staying in Ft. Wayne, IN after helping some college students change a flat.

What a great event. It was really great seeing old friends and making new ones. There was no shortage of stuff to do and look at. I will post some of my pics later after I get caught up at work.

I wanted to make sure there was a special thanks to:

The 928 Owner's Club
Roger Tyson
Jim M.
Marc White
Teri Knebel
Mo Zahr (Wichita Ambassador Extraordinaire!)
Laura V.
Zane Tyson
Jerry Feather
Kurt Auzins
and really... everyone else.

Gotta get back to work...

Roger said only Porsche built from the ground up. Are others built from somewhere down?

Does this mean hand built?
Please clarify so I have facts.

I noticed the shift to later model cars at the OCIC, too, and they're generally in great shape.

A few more, then (I'm finally close to being done with my favorites!)

He means from a "clean sheet". All others were based on some previous model, including the 356 being based on a VW. And the 911 being a revision of the 356. The 914 based on a VW. The 924 built for Audi, the 944 based on the 924. Not sure what the Boxter was based on. The Cayman based on the Boxter. The Cayenne codeveloped with VW(?) but a clean sheet design(?).

However I suspect that the Panamera is a clean sheet design, so that description might be dated.

There was some journalistic license involved with the rewriting of my interview with the local press - how unusual. The word was "designed" not built.

Very true, I noticed this and I think there were no OBs and maybe a few 80 and up 928s.

P.S. I just want to extend a special thanks to Laura V. I sent her a link to Adam B's quote (see my avatar)...and suggested that she could use it for a shirt or something along those lines. She went way above the call of duty and prepared an awesome framed plaque of the quote with great graphics surrounding it. (It was sitting up front near the awards table). I think the quote expresses quite well....the feeling of owning a 928 ... Thanks again Laura.. I think you might just have to make a few more of those plaques for the rest of us... (I don't have a pic..but maybe ATB can snap a shot???)
