My first car I bought with my own $$ was a 1966 Datsun 1600 two seater rag top! When it was running (side draft carbs were a PITA) it was schaaaa-weeeet with only a little rust and drove like a go cart!! All the girls loved to ride in it... some even pushed it to get her started 
Next was a 1979 Pontiac TransAm in chocolate brown with 25K miles... ran the living **** out of that 6.6 ltr car... Really liked the BMW 325i... not a lot of power but handled well... and who didnt like BMWs in the 80s. Married, kids, bills and multiple minivans until my 45th birthday when I got the American Skier Advance Competition Skiboat (pictured in my signature) - it will pull your arms off... really The icing on the cake for my 50th (two years ago) was when I went to Florida for the 86.5 GPW 5 Speed with 41K miles sitting in the garage today - my favorite of any car I've driven to date - you can tell because now she has 72K on the clock... and climbing rapidly

Posted the one middle picture earlier but this was the changes the car went thru over 16 year period with different motor combinations.
It only ran 9.3 in 1/8th mile more of a 14 second 1/4 mile car but I was 18 years old back then when I first had the car.
Did some piston,cam and torque converter changes the 1st picture it was running 8.4's in 1/8th mile which was a high 12 second car.
Later on built a 355 stroker motor with bigger roller cam that ran 7.60's in the 1/8th mile which is 11.7's in 1/4 mile.
Last motor I built was the big stroker 416 cu in with even bigger .660 lift roller cam and 5200 flash speed torque converter.
Car would leave hard at 5200 and best 60 foot time was 1.53...the one et slip of 1.55 60 foot time is at post #90 in this thread.
It went 7.0's in 1/8 high 10's in the 1/4 mile.
Never had a good picture after I put the stock stripes back on it and took the hood scoop off only the last picture below.
Put it more stock looking and sold it to a guy in California with smaller cam in it and he ran it there
at 11.1 in the 1/4 mile,no more fresh air without the scoop and smaller cam it lost .2 in the 1/4 mile but made a nice sleeper looking street car.
Wish I had taken better pictures than the last one just sitting in the garage but that is right before I sold it for the 928.
I raced another car at the drags before this one when I was 16,been drag racing ever since I was old enough to drive to the track.
I need another 11 second 1/4 mile ride,driving the stock 928 is fun but tends to be boring compared to a 10 second street car
but like the way it handles.

At least I sold it for more than I paid for it. One wheel from this car would be worth more than my S4.

My '70 911s coupe back in 1987 -I sold it for 8200.00, now its a 6 figure car, the guy who currently owns it bought from the person I sold it to back in '87, from a ad on Hemmings in 2007 for 60,000- current prices have doubled since then -a very nice example

Most of the ones I owned in my 20's are worth a heap these days, but I miss the 260Z.

It was scary fast. Owned several after that, including a couple straight 6's with webers, etc; last one was a 73 with a 400 ci small chevy and a turbo 350 auto, to this day my favorite ride.

Found 1 other picture from the drags when it was running 7.0's in the 1/8th
Car weighed 3450Lbs with driver.
Was dialed in at 7.09 that was the 340 block with 4" stroker crank 416 cu in.
Made a nice street car.
I'd still like to see a good run between a street car supercharged 928 and stroker 928 at a real drag strip,
no dyno racing!

My 74 Trans Am. I paid 800 bucks for it in 1989. Was in sad shape but all matching numbers. Finished the resto in 92. Sold it in 94 when I bought my 84 928S. Sure miss that one.
