Lighter? Nope. Faster? Depends on if you have a slush box and whether you actually can tell the difference between a car that runs well and a car that just... runs.

But yes, if the S8 doesn't have too much in its way, its probably faster.

A V6 honda accord is nearly faster than a 928. But thats not the point.

Agreed on that's not the point, doubt too many would declare an accord a winner over a 928 at least not without being under the influence!

The only logical successor of the 928 has got to be the AM DB9/AM DBS

Not the best in any category, but as a sum of its parts it is quite stunning and way beyond it...

As a daily driver - I just bought a BMW M5 Touring...

Test drove a 997TT the other day which gave me motivation to put the 928 up for sale. Not sure how long before I get one but know after driving it would be one of the cars that I think I want next.

Spiritual successor to the 928 (for sure much more raw....) could be the CLK63 Black Series:

perhaps the S8? V10 is no Luxobarge! Freeflow exhaust is music to the ears! Feels MUCH smaller than it is....

Very nice! A two seater rear engined Ferrari is in a different class from a GT like the 928, but still, very nice. Do you have any pictures of the 360 next to your 928?

I always ogle the Jaguar XKR whenever I see one on the freeway.

It has some rear hatch styling cues reminiscent of the 928.

Beautiful cars with pretty good power. I wasn't a fan of the interior on the previous generation, but the new model's interior is improved (although still a bit of a let down compared to that beautiful exterior).
