We've had the boat a long time, bought it thru an estate sale, had it completely overhauled last year. It's very economical to operate. Same with the cars, and motorcycles.

I’ve been auditing this thread with nothing to add. My garage is over-full by one and not much else that’s not in my garage really interests me.

Except this: Vantage S V12 6-speed. Watching (only) on BaT now. No place for it. Yet.

V12 Vantage is a neat car, if you like driving your 928, you should have a fab time in the Vantage. The manual is the one to get, and they seem to be holding their own in value compared to the newer paddle S models.

I've driven them many times as a guest of AM and they've performed extremely well every time. I'm toying with the idea of a V12V or a DBS to compliment my DB9. Also considering a Vanquish S, which is a totally different car, as I digress....

Anyway, Good luck if you get one !

Still finding it hard to believe a 2005 DB9 with only 20K miles went for $40K. I thought a 2005 Bentley Continental GT at $40K was the next one.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-martin-db9-7/

Need to add DB9s to my search. Anyone know of a good Aston Martin discussion forum?

Randy, Rob Ferretti, rents all the makes of exotics. He says the DB9 sucks, and the upkeep is super expensive. I always wanted an Aston, till I spoke with him.

I think for the money a Porsche is still the best and most reliable car around, plus the performance.

I just had a 2019 Audi A7 loaner and now I want that as my next car after the 928.

It drives similar enough and hauls when you stomp on it, plus it's a practical hatchback! Only it has 2 more doors than a 928.

Damn, that thing was nice inside.

Randy,

Some discussion can be found on 6 speed online and the AMOC site.

You can also send me a pm if you want to chat about Astons as I have a DB9 Volante and have put quite some miles on it. Mine now has 60+k miles and I believe I bought it with 10-15k IIRC.

Contrary to much hearsay, it's been very reliable even though I have had some electronic modules replaced.

The coil pack service is pricey, but for a $200k plus car, not much drama.

It's not a 77 impala where parts are all over the usa and readily available. However, if you do a little research, you can get parts at reasonable prices.

I've used mine regularly in past but now it's a weekend car in the stable with the others.

Funny thing how some say that the 928 is an unreliable car. They fall over when I tell them that my S4 has 305k miles and 250k was put there by me and I've only been stuck once by a fuel pump...

Similar stories on Range Rovers and we have two currently in the family and one has 165k and was my daily driver before I got a new full size Autobiography.

Anyway, same has been said about Aston, Bentley, Ferrari, and other cars that I've owned. I choose to do a little research and find out what the real deal is. When you're done you may find an exceptional bargain

Anyway, happy to chat about Astons if you want. Funny, I'm meeting another RLister Monday to chat about my Ferrari.... same subject are they reliable or expensive to maintain....

Here are two. It's Aston Green with a parliament green interior and roof. A one off combination in the US market. The colour is difficult to photograph and is a factory heritage colour that is different from Aston Racing Green.

My better half has sort of claimed this car, so maybe a DBS is in the cards...

Not sure where you're going with this, but I've owned many cars after my first 928, and plan on acquiring several more before I leave this space ball we know as earth ......

I'm liking the 718 Cayman, probably going to get one in a few years
