Clock ubertrivia-

2 different part numbers of analog clocks, 928 641 701 04, and 05- only difference I can see is the black plastic frame that holds the lens is more intricate on the late clock (from my '93 GTS).

Date codes (Maybe? maybe not... )- Early clock is 9289, late is 2093 (which is why I'm hedging, as my GTS was built 8/92. Either it's not a date code, or the clock's not original...):

No need to paint the sides of the hands as Nicole was obsessing about.

If one gets any paint whatsoever on the sides of the hands, it looks like complete crap when the clock is illuminated at night. Very important to make sure only the back of each hand is painted.

I painted the clock hands today on my '95. The console trim around the shifter plate was VERY tight on my car (maybe hadn't been removed before). Posting here, as I found it very easy to remove it by using wide plastic spatulas on both sides near the rear, then a tapered plastic wedge to raise the rear of the trim piece. Just kept pulling it up and it came free all the way around. Re-installed it by putting the rear in first, then pushing towards the front and finally at the very front while pushing out the sides of the console. Pix of 'tools' in place:

Crappy weather yesterday so painted the clock hands. I followed Nicole's technique and removed the old paint on the underside of the hands and then repainted them with Testors' orange flourescent.
