Duc's Hybrid build: DYNO TUNE DONE!
So after much thinking i decided to go with a hybrid build over the 32v motor. same power, less parts. :-) so i started this thread to document the build, and if i have a question see if you all know it,
I got the short block today! pretty clean. now here is a question i do have.
i have to send the pistons out to get fly cut for the euro heads. should i send the ones in the motor (remove them etc) or should i send a extra set i have? the bores look good so i dont think i need new rings, but i might get new stuff anyway..... so should it matter?

I have no answer for your question, but I look forward to watching this progress! I think the "EURO 5.0" engines are a GREAT way to go if you can't afford a fully on stroker build! I would LOVE a EURO 5.0 for my race car! Nearly bought all the stuff for one a few years ago. I think David Lloyd was the one selling all the stuff needed...it was something he had (or whoever it was) had but never finished up! Would have been great for the GT car!

Jake, do you know what compression that shortblock's cylinders made when it was a longblock? Seems to me that if the pistons that are in it are already happily mated to their bores, then you'd want to pull 'em and send them for cutting. All that piston-to-wall clearance stuff is kinda important

2 gallons of odorless mineral spirits, (sacrificial) turkey baster, plastic bristle brush, 56 quart rubbermaid 'drain pan'.
The mineral spirits can then go into your $45 3.5 gallon parts washer for all the hardware.
