Default Extended Wheel Studs vs Offset

My 84 came from the factory with extended rear wheel studs and spacers. I assume that the spacers were to fill out the fenders and aid in handling somewhat with the non-staggered wheels. I have staggered 8 inch rears and want to know if I should still use the spacers or not. Would the combination put the center of the wheel more in line with the rotor hub? What would this possibly do to the nandling?

Use the spacers with the 8" wheel if you :

1. like the look
2. Your tires dont rub the fender

the stock rear wheels without spacers were made to accept tire chains for winter driving,
adding spacers takes away this option.
adding 8 in wide factory wheels with the factory spacers will make the rear track about 42 mm wider,
you will not notice any difference in handling in most driving conditions,
you will see the tires look to fill out the wheel well

No real difference in handling. Having run 15 , 16 , 17 and 18s with tires from 205 to 315 with and without spacers You will not notice any difference. A couple pounds of air pressure or corner balance weights has way more impact than spacers....

all looks... and yes, do it!!! no downside all good.. wish i had the old 84 with the long studs! piece of mind to use the longer studs vs what i have now.. bolt on spacers with their own studs.. the spacer breaks, the wheel falls off.... not fun to think about
enjoy... you can run up to a 255 on a 9" rim with no issues with those spacers
