Maybe it will run today, or maybe not?
Sorry I'm just so impressed that I got so much completed today.
Under the car is done.
Under the hood except the top rad hose because I have to run down and get some coolant.
I might pull the temp sender to help it bleed instead.
Have to put the in-tank pump back in, left out to drain last year and because it was leaking so I need to reseal it.
Then I can check the wires for the tec-gt ECM, 2 to hook up.
add fuel and connect the ground to the battery.
The program disk needs to be loaded and I have to pick the fuel and ignition map.
Cross fingers.
Now to wash up and head down town so the coolant can bleed while I finish the rest.
This has been way to much to Modify at once

Good luck Brad and let us know how things will go.
Pretty impresive job you did on that engine.
Always a bit nervous too starting the car after some works...
...And I'm talking some small works, not pulling the engine like you did!
Nice job.

Brad,
I am going to be converting my car to VEMS when I get home.
Will build the harness separate, then convert in 1 day.
Cant wait to ditch the MAF, ign leads, caps/rotors, etc.
I will be using Cayenne COPs.

Brad,
Did Carl supply a file to load based on your engine??
Are you using Tec4 Software?
If so, setting the base maps is really simple.
Just press the "new" button and fill in the blanks.
The wizard will create a base profile dependent on what you have entered.
You set the firing order under cylinder trims.
Read the help files for the software. Make sure you choose the right sensor types and voltages.
This is enough to get the car running. You still need to tweak it.

Don't bother putting in the in-tank pump, just delete it.
Good luck on first start up.

Ok when I pulled it out the rubber was cracked anyway so I pulled the pump and hose off the nipple and threaded it back in.

No he did not unless there is something in the Electromotive CD
Thanks for your help BTW, do I use the numbers that you posted in the picture.
I have not powered up the ECM yet but I have viewed the program on my desk top.
Looks like I don't get to see smoke out of it today but it should tomorrow if I get a answer on what to do with the fuel relay.

Its the in-tank strainer that cars with no in-tank pump have fitted.
You need something there to filter the in-tank fuel so that debris and filth won't enter your fuel pump and kill it (the 928 fuel filter is after the external pump).
Good luck getting your engine running - truly a testament to your perserverence and tenacity!

I bet a carb filter stone will flow enough

Brad,
Those are the numbers that come up when you start a new file.
Go from top to bottom and pick and choose what you are working with.
Example: Choose Tec GT in the first pull down.
Then choose your V8 type. (Phased or whatever.)
Then your max RPM.
etc. etc.
After the intial screen, you need to go to the cylinder trims to set your firing order.
Then go through the various screens to pick your sensor types, etc.
Again, the numbers the wizard sets are just to get the engine running.
You'll have to tweak for your prferences.
Go through all the various advanced menu choices, get comfortable with the software. Some of it will be obvious.
Join the Electromotive forum. http://electromotivetec.freeforums.org/ Some good tips there. Also, you can contact tech support through the forum.
A few screen shots. 1: General Parameters. 2: Advanced Parameters. 3: Cylinder trims.

Thanks Hilton.
I think it is something to do with the Tec-GT input/outputs but so far nothing stands out except no tech or oil pressure. I checked the wires and it all looks good.
Hmmmm
