OB coolant temp gauge degrees?
I have been working on my AC and along the way did an air pump delete. I had previously flushed the coolant system, replaced the thermostadt and fan switch with a 75deg version and am running 50/50 G05 coolant.
I did not have the car running last summer so this is my first hot season. During the spring with the air pump and longer fan belt the car would run about the first white line. I always had a red overtemp segment light illuminated but had not got around to troubleshooting.
Since doing my AC job the car hits the second white line at a stand still and 1500 RPM with aux electric fan running. Today I got an IR temp gun and hose temps at the second white line were 203F.
My air pump delete green belt is 21" but very loose. I tried a 20" but could not get the fan bracket in place without what I considered undue force. Not sure this is a factor. The belt driven fan seems to have some resistance so I think the clutch is fine.
Is the second white line in an OB equal to ~200F? How do I test the overtemp warning light now that it is out versus having always been on before?

200F being 93C, sounds about right. With my 83C thermostat, cruising in cool air, my gauge sits just above horizontal. When I had a 75C thermo, it ran just above the first mark, but I wasnt happy with the way it ran, too cold for everything to fit as designed. Somewhere here there is a size for the belt without the air pump, it may need a fractional or metric size.
With electric fans on mine, the gauge oscillates up to just under the second white mark, and I am happy with that.
