Nice car. Glad to see that you made it thru Stockton O.K. If you would have stayed in town for a little while the city would have issued you a gun .

Can someone give me the specs on the 89 GT? and what they go for.
I was thinking of buying a Viper or a Ferrari 355 and I was curious how powerful the
89 GTs are and are there more powerful versions?

Here you go, OG:

The 89's are pretty special amongst 928 enthusiasts, many of whom consider it to be the epitome of the performance 928. It was the last year of the mechanical LSD and no airbags, replaced by electronic PSD and dual airbags in 1990. There are other small differences as well between the 89 and the 90-91GT, but those are the two big ones.
I'd say most GTs put out 290rwhp +/- 10, which is about 340 at the crank assuming 15% drivetrain loss. They were widely rumored to be hotter than officially claimed by the factory (326 crank hp). If I had the opportunity to own an 89, I would, not that I'm unhappy with my 90 - just a personal preference.

Look up the CS (Club Sport) too. And SE (UK). Otherwise its tuner versions. The proven aftermarket forced induction options fill the gap that exists between the classic platform from twenty years ago and the output of some of the contemporary offerings in the same market sector.
