what is the strongest piece of flexible material on a 928
Just doing some wondering, I found a piece of material that seems almost indestructible ,
just wondering if anyone has any thoughts.
If the whole car was made of this stuff things would never break.
I will post my answer after a few others have had a chance to chime in

well some really good ideas here, so here is what i found
I think the strongest piece of flexible material is used in the bumper plugs on the pre 87 PU covers,( these are covers for the holes for tightening up the bumper bolts from below) The ones on this car are made of a very thick composition rubber plastic similar to a hockey puck, I was trimming the tabs a bit to make installation easier,
as well as removal,
my side cutters were having a time just trimming off a 1.5 mm piece of each edge.
I know that some of these plugs are also made of a harder plastic material and are almost brittle .
So keep em coming, interesting to see what others have found

That brown, flakey adhesive that holds bolts to to the parts they are screwed in to. Common on NE/NW and cars from Floriduh.
I think it's called rust, but don't know, we don't get any of that here. Oh, it aint flexible either, but damn strong.
