Radiator Woes
So, my new radiator arrived from 928 International. It's the "Universal Aluminum Radiator 2 Cooler" one, made by C&R. I pulled the old one a few minutes ago. The four couplings for the p/s and oil coolers appear to be about 2.5 mm too long to screw all the way into the radiator, so the (original) sealing washer is left rattling about in the gap. Am I missing something? They don't appear to be designed to seal at the bottom.

Here's a photo of one of the couplings, screwed into the oil-cooler as far as it will go. That gap is almost exactly 3mm. The crush-washer that was on the old oil-cooler was less than 1mm thick, so there's still a lot of gap to fill.
I'll call 928 International on Monday, of course; I just wondered if anyone had run into this problem before.

There should be 3 "fender type" washers that go in to fill that space you are showing in the photo.
IIRC they came with the Rad. when I received it.
(I just looked at mine and the 3 washers are on both fittings)

Thanks, David. Mine didn't come with any washers, and I went through the packing material very carefully.

The new radiator's in. Does anyone want the old one? For free? All you have to do is pick it up (I'm in North San Diego County). It looks to be in good condition with the exception of the broken top hose connector (which is why I replaced it). A new end-tank is needed.
