will 88 dash clocks fit my 81 euro ?
are all analog clocks the same and interchangeable?euro - US , 77-89 ??or is there differences with connectors on some models.

Up until 1982, the analog clock was round. You'd have to replace the trim piece that goes around the shifter, along with the upper trim piece that goes around the radio, in order to install a later style clock.
I have an early style clock, if you need one. |

Oh, OK. We usually call this "instrument cluster", I think.
The 89 models had the digital display already. There are differences between the other years as well, but I don't know the details. |
Nicole, I am with you and I am STILL not sure what dogleg is talking about. That said, I prefer the round analog clock to any of the other 928 clocks...

I think that the tacho will read double because the early tacho signal is one pulse per spark, but the later tacho (which is connected to one of the two ignition systems) will expect one pulse for every second spark.

We call them gauges here...not "clocks"...clocks tell time, gauges indicate important info about how a system is functioning.
|
Even on the American dictionary.com: clock -noun, 3. a meter or other device, as a speedometer or taximeter, for measuring and recording speed, distance covered, or other quantitative functioning.
Personally I would refer to the speedometer and tachometer as clocks, but the oil pressure, fuel level, voltage and temperature as gauges. Smiffy (defender of the English language) |
bet you were the hall monitor in school.....lol

No I wasn't a "prefect", and it took me three tries to pass my English "O" level exam.

Most of the instument clusters are year specific. Some years have different combinations of individual oil pressure/water temp/amp meter/fuel level gauges, so they are relatively specific as well.
