Weather ... I saw it all
Over the four day drive I experienced all kinds of weather. Rained like a son of a gun in Salt Lake City, UT. Then it snowed in Vail, CO. Pea soup fog in Ellis, KS. Finally got some sunshine in Oklahoma City, OK.

Colorado Tunnels
Driving the tunnels of Colorado was pretty cool and probably saved me from getting stranded. Vail was expecting 3 inches of snow and temps in the low 30's and it's the middle of May. The last thing I was expecting when I left Texas was SNOW!

First night home
So the 928 just got washed and is parked next to older brother, the 79 911 SC from Germany. Tomorrow I begin the Griot's treatment with clay followed by Polish #2.

Three Wheelin'
Wow... Your A/C must work! I'm jealous. The two 928's I've owned neither have worked.

This afternoon Adrienne follows me in the 928 while I'm driving the Jag to the new owner ie. Sean's neighbor. Afterwards, Sean & Roger check out my new car. After adding a can of R12, we head to Brad's so Adrienne can see Brad's Garage! The guys like the car ... sounds like I got lucky. So now we're talking X-pipe and rear muffler bypass (RMB).
Heck of a way to buy a car. 105 gallons of gas. 2227 miles. Many thanks to those along the way. What a ride!

Three weeks ago I parked my new 1987 928 S4 in my garage. Ordered some parts from Roger which were later installed by Sean. Front left valance is fixed and the car was lowered by 8 turns. Still driving over speed bumps to get it to settle down. Hatch release got adjusted so now it works and makes no noise. AC blows ice cold after adding a can of R-12. Thanks Sean!
Lloyds floor mats, sun shade, temp sensor cover and some items from Griot's Garage have been ordered. Bought a 3 ton floor jack, two jack stands and a torque wrench from Harbor Freight yesterday. I've got my feelers out for a set of 87 Shop Manuals. Anybody have an old set?
Jason Jones at MARS removed all the door dings/dents via PDR, color matched the driver seat bolster, deep cleaned the carpeting, steam cleaned and conditioned the leather, color matched touch up paint to the driver door edge, both mirrors and front bumper. Great work Jason!
Griot's asked me to test the brand new Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner. I cleaned the wheels, wheel wells and under carriage on Wednesday. Only took a few minutes to see 24 years of road grime melt away. Finished up with Under-carriage Spray and Rubber& Vinyl Dressing. I know, I need pics!
I've given the 928 a royal Griot's treatment: washed, clayed, Polished 3-2-1-2-3, waxed and waxed and waxed so more. Glued down the edges of the center console and leather treated the seats again. Engine bay got a "first attempt" cleaning. Wheels have been clayed and Paint Sealed.
Many thanks to the guys from the 928 DFW club. If it wasn't for Roger, I never would have gone to Cars and Coffee a year ago. Which means I never would have made friends with Brad, Sean, John and Chuck. You guys are pretty special, thanks for letting this 911 guy hang out with you. I don't know much about "wrenching" but my detailing services are available to you anytime.
I am so glad I own this 928!
