Euro S cams for $1000. Ughhh. Call the guy in FL and see if you could get the motor and intake for $1000 with shipping included. Then keep the cams and sell the heads for $500 + shipping, the euro intake for $250 + shipping (fair prices), and the rest for whatever you can get. (don't really know the going price on a euro block/pistons) For a little time and effort of selling/shipping you have your camshaft along with the other side if ever needed in the future for free or close to it. Looks like quite a deal bud. You can also see if a fellow Rennlister from FL would be willing to pick it up for you so you don't have to do shipping and work out a deal with you for the cams only. Good luck!

I've been looking for a left bank cam for months now and at this point am willing to sell the farm for a good cam. Has anyone had any experience with the reground cams from 928MS or have another resource (that's trustworthy)?

Sean,
I have the cam you need but after sleeping on it I don't think I should let it go until I have a solution to my cam problem. Also, I asked about the cams on EBay; I also asked for more complete pics but I don't expect to see them (not that it matters now). I was also working with a guy overseas thru RL who had a complete engine he wanted to sell but the shipping made it cost prohibitive. Even shipping just the cams from overseas will be $200-$300. I don't mind paying the money, I just want to be positive of what I'm getting.

Shipping a parcel via DHL from Germany to the states is for max. 5 kg and max. length 1.20 meter 39 €.
It´s not airfreight, but 2-3 weeks delivery time.
I called Jochen a few minutes back and he thinks he has one. More monday.

Is the cams breaking common? (don't feel like using search) and if so that might change my plans for the euro engine.
I would rather have a little less hp than be down for months/years looking for a replacement.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but 16V cams in general appear to be rather fragile in this area.

I have the Machine Shop find S4 engine and if the 310hp Euro cams are so rare and brittle I may use the S4 engine in the euro instead.

Are you sure on the part number??

That number is for 80 - 83 Euro S, not a 85.

Only asking because it wouldn't be a good thing to have one 85 cam and the other a 80 - 83.

I'm the guy with 1979 Euro cams on Ebay. Nothing wrong with the cams and yes came out of a 300 hp engine. Sean their not the high lift cams but for $200.00 and 10 hp less than the 1985 Euro cams, their your best find. The keyways are perfect. (now I see the reason why you asked)

Also have powder coated 16V cam towers FS PM me

The PET does list the 928 105 187 cam PN as being for the M28.11/12, however I have two cams here with the 928 105 187 PN cast on the shaft, one stamped w/ a 211 on the end and one without and they are different cams. The cam with the 211 came out of an '85 ROW, the other came from an '84 I believe. So RCinXS is correct; check carefully before you buy.

Sean,
What number is stamped into the end of your cam, if any?

Tony,
PM sent.

Lastly, to all, anyone ever install a set of earlier cams ('79 to '83) in a later car (85 ROW)? If so what were the results?

Stamped 211 00 on the end of the cam.

I'm not following, Tony. There was no EuroS 300hp in '79.
Could you please elaborate?

I have a 84 - 86 ROW S (S2) cam (from a 84 S ROW) for cylinder bank 1-4. Perfect condition.
