Default 82 bid up to 9,000! Why?

Has anybody seen this? Who in the world is bidding this up so high?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

There's the vid to go with it on youtube, but I can't find it atm.

The rear interior quarters are missing, I hope the bidders know this.

Shill bidding? Lots of zero feedback bids.

It costs NOTHING to bid, many used car dealers have multiple E-bay accounts and have no problem bidding on their own cars or friends cars. The only bid that matters is the last one if you are the one who made it !

Its a car dealer that took it on a trade in. Says there is LOTS of maintenance history. Who knows...quarters may be getting recovered.

Or....maybe not.

For 9 grand, I hope the quarters are gold plated! lol That's alot of money for an 82 auto. IMO.

I'd be a little more careful about speculating on who is bidding on this car unless you know for sure.....

OK it is POSSIBLE that TWO very uninformed potential 928 owners decided that they must have this particular 928.....It is after all the highly collectible rare 82 automatic in that unusual red color.....and decided to bid it up well before the actual aution sale ends....

....just sayin. You guys have no idea what's going on with this auction and it's wrong to speculate and call into question someone's rep w/o any facts. Looks to me like the bidder with 34 feedbacks has to have it and bid more on several occasions. Could just also be plausible that its completely legit?

I understand what you are saying and I agree, but 9k for an 82 seems extremely high, but you are right, I don't know who is bidding on this, so I will sit back and watch quietly. I was only stating what I saw with hopes to protect a potential bidder/buyer. I saw the quarters were removed and that was why I posted this thread to begin with.

Best of luck if any bidders are R-Listers...

If its a very well preserved car, lightly used, any model year could sell high if a buyer really wanted it.

That's a very appealing car in my eyes. Early pre-S styling. Love it, at least from the pictures and information gleaned from the ad.

For somebody that wants a classic 928, this has possibilities.
Value comparison to an S4 or GT/GTS isn't really relevant, nor is a performance comparison. I could see spending this, easy.

Didn't catch interior removal, but that would lead to a far different conclusion.

Fifth picture down shows a side view of the interior, in between the driver and passenger seats shows the seat belt mechanism and what appears to be burgundy paint.
