Brian, if the leak remains, I agree with Bill, it is internal. Bars Leak will most likely stop it. I would not hesitate using it.

I will have to see how bad the leak is after I fix the alt....... I will pressure test it again...and if I don't find anything then I am leaning towards some bars leak.....plus if I do that it gives me an excuse to pull the radiator and have it properly cored.....

Found the leak coming from my a/c compressor area - it was the upper hose. It was dripping down the front of the motor, across the head gasket, around the corner and down the side of the block. Some of the leaking fluid was brownish, but that was from it melting and taking some cosmolene with it. Of course, I had to pull off the compressor to figure this out... I couldn't just check the hose first.
I had a similar leak on the back of the motor (which I have again and am still trying to isolate), so a lesson re-learned.
Since my cam gear/TB job where I replced a bunch of hoses, I've found that they require retightening after some time.
As much as I don't like the fact that G05 is clear, the white deposit trails are great for finding leaks.

Didn't read thru the thread, but when this happened to me it was due to a failing end tank seal. A system pressure test did not reveal any leaks. Coolant vaporizes at the seal at a slow enough rate that it does not show a leak.

As a last resort you could use 'water glass' (look it up on wikipedia) in the coolant, if you suspect the head gasket(s).
I think it is probably also the active ingredient of the 'stop leak' product. It is basically a liquid, that will convert into glass like, very hard stuff, when exposed to very high temperatures (such as the join between the cylinders and head gasket).
They also use it in the 'cash for clunkers' programma, but then they poor in into the engine after tapping of the oil...... to make sure the engine really seizes beyond repair.
For temporary headgasket repairs it is perfect stuff though.

Yes....and a new gasket....the old one has a "crack" right where I saw the old leak....
When I 1st pressure tested the cooling system we did NOT hear any leaks, but it was quite loud that day.....its possible its the radiator end tank seal, but niether are used.....since I don't have an oil cooler and the trans cooler is bypassed to an external cooler.....
Hmm....it might be good "maintainence" to have the radiator cored + end tank seals just because....

Finally.....I have fixed the mysterious disappearing coolant problem from the 928 Estate..... A pressure test revealed a bad waterpump, so I changed that....but it still kept loosing coolant..... Further pressure testing did NOT reveal leaks....WTF.....so my only choice was this
http://www.barsproducts.com/1186.htm
$6.99 WORKED.... amazing......I still think it was a slight leak of the headgasket to the outside....but won't know until the engine is torn down...it very well could be much worse..... Hopefully this will give me another 50+ hours on track for this $300 engine!

Congratulations Brian! I have used Bars Leak several times over my automotive history and each time I had to push back the usual concerns "if it plugs up a leak what else will it plug up?". Even after rebuilds, sometimes 80k miles later the engine block, radiator, heater condenser, etc., all were good. I would not hesitate to use this product on one of my cars if I had an untraceable leak like yours.

When I owned my E-type, Barrs leaks, as it is known was actually recommended in the Jaguar official workshop manual as a recognised cure, for any water works problems !

Of course now I am paranoid about it clogging everything.....or over heating....but I'm sure it will be fine....my next track day is an open test so I can get some LONG sessions of over an hour straight to test it, in the summer heat....
