Can anyone else confirm it's $4.99 a quart throughout the USA in Napa Auto stores???

We should create a sticky thread about $5 Mobil 1 oil whenever there is a sale and where to get it!

Confirmed that the WM stores here are no longer carrying 15W-50 Mobil 1 either. I've bought it here for years, must be some significant change going on with either WM or Mobil 1 or both.

I inquired with Mobil in May and got a reply (surprise). MOBIL DOES NOT PRODUCE 15W/50 in 5 quart jugs any longer.

One quarts are available of course and judging by NAPA's deal in June, it's pretty close to the $4.60/quart price WM used to have ($23/jug) and time to stock up a few cases.

OT: They claimed 0w/40 had good ZDDP for flat tappet engines. I'm a bit skeptical of that but just FYI.

EDIT 4/2012: It's back! Bought two jugs today at the Renton WA location for $26. http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...t_Walmart.aspx

From the OP in 2011.................

Went back this weekend and it was still not there - looked sold out. So I started reading all the labels for each shelf location and there was no label for 15W-50. I asked one of the clerks and he said the oil sections were just relabeled which leads me to believe Walmart may stop carrying it.

So if you happen to see it on the shelves at your local store, you may want to pick it up while you can.
Deja Vu when I went to Wally World tonite. No gallon sizes & no labels on their reworked oil section. And they have been so good about always having it in stock. Hope this isn't a repeat of 2011 when the gallon sized M1 15w50 went away for a good long while from WalMart. They did have the quarts at least. If you find any gallons around, you might buy it before its gone.

I stocked up a year ago and still have a few years' worth on the shelf. I still look though... Was in the store by my folks' house that usually carries it, and nothing on the shelf. Did find some 0W-30 (it's like sex in a canoe -- f!!!ing close to water...) for the new Honda and a couple good Bosch oil filters to go with it. I cleaned them out of the 15W-50 last time I was in that store, but that's obviously not enough movement to keep it on their shelf. Next time I see it --- grab all I can before the hoarders get there!

Great find-it tool. But... One of the stores it lists nearby with inventory is the one I visited on Thursday. It's probably worth a phone call ahead to confirm actual stock levels.
