Default I think I found a 928 to purchase

Gentlemen,

After looking for a while, I finally found one only 10 miles away from me. I have attached a link with pictures. It is an 89 45K miles, with GTS mirrors and GTS wheels. He also replaced the exhaust tips. The radio has to go it looks like crap with the woofer sitting in the middle of the trunk, I was thinking of replacing with the factory "Reno" radio.

He has some service records, he stated that the timing belt and water pump were replaced but does not have the service record for that service. Chances are I may have to do...........just in case.

I asked him that I would want a PPI performed by the dealer, and he said no problem. He states no electrical issues, every button and switch works properly.

Please take a look and let know your thoughts, comments and anything that does not look correct.

Thank you in advance.

Uh, Not sure anyone is going to be downloading a file from a place they don't know. I'm sure I won't be.

May I suggest linking directly to ebay, the site is not user friendly. It looks nice; kinds depends on where the auction goes. Can you include endplay in the PPI? A private seller should have TB receipt.

Hi Orli,

Nice photos, the car looks very nice, black on black.

I would definately have a PPI done on it and I would also check with the shop that did his timing belt and see if they have that receipt. When I bought my car, I had the shop who did work on the PO car print out all the receipts of work they did on the car, just to have them for my records.

Good luck, this car looks like a nice one, wish I had it.

When I bought my 87 out of the pawn shop, I didn't know anything about 928's other than I liked the way they look. Mine came with 15 years worth of reciepts. I paid 8 grand for it, and it hasn't been a money pit.
The seller is asking top dollar for the one your interested in. It should be in almost perfect condition at that price.
BTW, my car is loaded with everything, except the rear A/C, which most say is a PITA. I hope you get a great 928, they're fantastic cars!

Spoke to the seller by email.

The owner has had it for a year. Owns other Porsches. Bought it from:

Motorcar Investments, Inc5641 Hillsborough St.Raleigh, NC 27606

(who have another for 928 for sale right now as discussed in the forum).

He said he has service records and the TB/WP was done last year and has records to show this.

No idea what he paid and couldn't find a cached listing of the original sale price, just the "SOLD" mark.

Have someone look at the car in person and check the records. Otherwise it's not worth risking at this price without solid records done by a reputable shop.

I had a black on black in L.A. for a long time. Not sure I would do that again in a hot climate. 928s have a LOT of horizontal glass and, left parked, I found my black on black car turned into an oven. Of course, my car had no tint, so that might make a difference.

Check TBF before moving any money. It's top dollar but it looks pretty nice. Low mileage if it can be believed.
